“When you tear out a man’s tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you’re only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”
George R.R. Martin, A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2)
Martin reportedly hates any conservative use of this quote, due to its use in defending former President Trump’s often unwise utterances.
No matter how Martin insists he meant it, it fits the cutting off of any but the accepted narrative when it comes to Covid, vaccines, treatment with therapeutics and mitigation strategies. Liberal orthodoxy dictates that there can be no dissent regarding these measures. Dissention is instantly labeled “anti-scientific”, “racist”, “sexist”, “homophobic” or whatever other term completely marginalizes opposing opinion.
But the veil of silence is beginning to show a few places where it’s wearing thin.
