What follows is the body of an email that I sent to Megyn Kelly, who will be interviewing former President Donald Trump on her show next week.
My email was already running too long, so after the email, I have a little more to say, and that’s below.
Hi Megyn - love your show & I'm a daily listener. I am looking forward to your interview with President Trump. Not sure if you're taking questions for him, but if you are, here's mine. Mr President - I voted for you twice and in many ways I believe you served our country well. One area where you totally lost me and many of my fellow conservatives was your response to Covid. Not all of the damage to our country happened on your watch, but it all started with your administration. The people you chose to lead our response to this "crisis" were complete failures, and the policies they recommended and enacted will have negative impacts to every part of our lives for years to come. Masking doesn't work, social distancing doesn't work, shutting down schools, businesses and churches didn't work. The "vaccine" produced by Warp Speed not only doesn't work, but caused great harm to many people, and continues to cause harm. It only served to line the pockets of Big Pharma and people like Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates. All while there were safe, inexpensive and highly effective drugs available that would have stopped the pandemic in its tracks. You're not well known for your ability to admit when you're wrong, so if you want my vote this time, here is what I want to know: Are you willing to face the American people and tell us that you were mistaken in your administration's response to Covid? Will you state point-blank that you now realize that virtually none of it was necessary or effective and promise that nothing like it will happen under your second term? Do you have the courage to face your own shortcomings that allowed our country to be brought to its knees?
So, that’s probably already too long a question for Megyn to ask Mr. Trump, but as readers here may have noticed, I have a tendency to run on a bit. And why not? I pay the bills around here.
Here’s the rest of what I would ask him if I could.
You had the better part of a year to correct your early errors, but you never did. There was mounting evidence all through 2020, that the measures taken were not solving anything. The proof is in the pudding, Mr President. The US had about the strictest policies, but still had a higher percentage of deaths than any other country. When you came down with Covid, you took ivermectin and recovered in record time. Why was that not enough to make you use the power of your office to call all of the other nonsense to a screeching halt, and release the stocks of ivermectin to the public? It's almost impossible to imagine the difference in the effect that would have had on our country and the world. Hundreds of thousands of fewer deaths. Hundreds of thousands of fewer jobs lost, businesses shuttered forever, kids fallen behind in ways they'll never regain. Fewer scars on our national soul, as we continue to be divided, and pitted against each other for gain in power and riches by the elites who brought us to our knees in the first place. If you would be willing to stand up, and clearly say "I was wrong. Please forgive me. I will do everything the power of the office of President provides to make sure it doesn't happen again. Then, you would be worthy of not just my vote, but the votes of every person in this country who is awakening to the destination of this horrific road we began to travel in March 2020.
seems like a pretty clear question to me.
