We won’t stand for it!

We watched President Trump’s speech to the joint session of Congress last night. Unlike the recent State of the Union speeches, given by a senile old guy, we made it all the way through.

Trump’s speech made sense. It touched on many subjects near and dear to our hearts. It was interesting and even inspiring.

But, not everyone seemed to think so. Specifically, the Democrats were not at all engaged with what Trump had to say.

Which is fine – understandable even. Democrats disagree with Republicans on just about everything. That’s politics, you know what I’m saying?

The little black signs were entertaining and Rep. Al Green was even more entertaining, as he was escorted from the festivities because he was throwing a fit.

And anytime a President is enumerating the progress he has made on his stated platform, we don’t really expect a lot of approbation from the opposing side of the aisle.

But, last night the Democrats were a disgrace.

Dont stand up and cheer programs and goals you disagree with? Fine. We get that.

But here are some of the other things (people actually) that they refused to stand up and cheer for:

  • A boy who has been fighting cancer most of his life and was last night absolutely delighted when he was made an honorary member of the Secret Service.
  • The widow of a murdered police officer, shot in the line of duty.
  • An innocent man, recently released from a Russian prison and reunited with his 94 year old mom.
  • The grief stricken mothers of 2 children – one a young woman, and one a child of 12 – who were savagely attacked and murdered by illegal criminal aliens who entered our country during the Democrat led open border policy of the previous administration.
  • The wife and daughters of a man who died while trying to defend them during the assassination attempt at a Trump rally last summer.
  • An exemplary High School senior, the son of a fallen police officer, and descendent of generations of military service to our country, who found out that he has been accepted to West Point.
  • Two young women who were special guests of Melania Trump because of their ability to overcome difficult circumstances and achieve success.

President Trump put his finger on the pulse of the Democratic party, when he said:

I look at the Democrats in front of me, and I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud, nothing I can do,” Trump said. “These people sitting right here will not clap, will not stand, and certainly will not cheer for these astronomical achievements.

They did give a standing O for just one thing – a mention of the money that has been sent to Ukraine thus far. Not when Trump mentioned working to END the conflict, but when he mentioned the billions of dollars the US has already sent during the war.

That is how the Democratic Party in this country has lowered themselves – they only cheer when reminded about how much money we have sent to help kill people.
